Mornington Little Athletics is jumping into the new season with a $1,600 grant from Coles to support aspiring athletes and community volunteers. Mornington is one of 72 grassroots Little Athletics Centres across Australia announced today as a successful recipient of the 2025 Coles Little Athletics Community Fund who will share in $250,000 to purchase much needed sports, safety and volunteer equipment.

Mornington Little Athletics will use their grant to buy new shot puts, relay batons, high jump bars, discuses and javelins, which Centre President Brett Perez said will help volunteers to deliver a fun, safe and quality program for young athletes.
“This new equipment will make Little Athletics sessions more engaging and inclusive for hundreds of children across the Mornington Peninsula. Having multiple sets of essential athletics equipment will reduce waiting times for children, keeping the sessions engaging and inclusive. The equipment will not only have an immediate impact on our members, but they will also be used by the local schools who run athletics carnivals at Civic Reserve,” he said.
