Welcome to Week 3

Welcome to Week 3 of the 2021-2022 season at Mornington Little Athletics Centre (MLAC).

Welcome to Week 3 of our Summer Season. We are fortunate at Civic Reserve to have an 'all weather' track so despite the gloomy conditions, we still managed to have over 100 little athletes participating in the weekly competition event. We are hoping for better conditions this coming Saturday 20th Nov and looking forward to seeing our MLAC athletes and families back on track. Don't forget to book for our weekly training sessions. It was fantastic to see our MLAC Little Aths participate this week.

Week 3 Program

Our program for Week 3 is now available for download on our Website which contains all the scheduled events for each age group. Please note that MLAC can vary the Events and schedule pending the weather conditions for the day.

Parent & Volunteer Duties

We have introduced an online booking app for Parent duties. All parents are expected to fulfil their weekly duty allocation. Our club cannot function each week without the assistance of our parents and volunteers.

Duties for this week are as follows:

From 7:30am - Track Set-up - Under 8 Boys & Under 11 Girls

From 8:00am - BBQ Duties - Under 10 Boys & Under 6 Boys

From 11:30am - Track Pack-up - Open Girls & Under 9 Girls

Please book your duties online to help MLAC run each session effectively. We are very grateful to our MLAC Committee who gets this work done each week but we certainly need all parents to assist.

Mornington Athletics Academy

MLAC is proud to launch our brand new training program - Mornington Athletics Academy. We have fully qualified coaches who will teach our kids the fundamentals for athletics development. Training for all registered and paid Age Groups is now open for this coming Wed 24th Nov so please ensure you book online first. We are very excited to launch this new and innovative program and look forward to watching our kids develop their athletics skills.

Member Registration

Under the new directions from Victorian State Government and LA Vic, all members and trial athletes attending any MLAC events (competition and training) must be registered with LAVIC. Registration options are as follows:

  1. New Members must be registered through the Trial Athlete Program via LA Vic.

  2. Returning Members must be registered through LA Vic Registration Portal

You do not need to pay immediately for Registration. You can defer payment for a maximum of 2 weeks.

As a result of these directions, MLAC will not accept Trial Athletes or returning members who turn up and have not registered via the process above. We strongly encourage all members and new families to complete the Registration process prior to the event this Sat 20th November 2021.

Uniforms

MLAC offers a range of uniforms and merchandise for sale at each session including Club t-shirts, singlets, crop-tops, MLAC hoodies and LA Vic branded shorts. We also offer ceramic running spikes and shoe bags. If you need to purchase any uniform item, you can do so using our online shop and click & collect on Saturday morning.

A friendly reminder that any uniform with a Jetstar patch or logo is not permitted by LAVic. Little Athletics has been sponsored by Coles for almost 5 years and you must ensure your MLAC top, singlet has the Coles logo attached. If you need to collect a Coles patch, please come and collect one from the office on Saturday morning.

New Families FAQs

We are delighted to welcome our Trial Athletes families to Mornington Little Aths. We have a lot of useful information on our website including a list of FAQs and what to expect on the day. All our parents are encouraged to assist and support our kids as they complete their events. If you have any questions about our Program or Centre, please get in contact with us or any Committee Member (wearing Orange Polo tops) on the track.

Join the MLAC Committee

Now is a great time to contribute your ideas, suggestions and join our MLAC Committee. We are seeking an Assistant Secretary who can assist with the Club duties. This is a great opportunity to help shape the Club and become a valued member of the MLAC family. We are also seeking a BBQ Coordinator for Season 2021-22. The BBQ is a great fundraiser for the Club and we all enjoy a sausage after each Saturday Session. If you would like to nominate, please reach out to our Club Secretary who can provide you with more information.

Results HQ

Each week event results are added to the Results HQ website where you can view your child’s results if you are a paid member. For our trial athletes, once you complete the registration process and pay the fees, your child’s results will also be available.

For those who haven't accessed their results before, you will need to do so through the Results HQ platform. To login use your primary email address that you used during registration, will become our username for Results HQ

Please note that results are not always live and it may take a little while for them to be put into the system. There is also a PDF Achievement Book with all of the athletes' season results available to print and download.
