Welcome to Week 19

Welcome to Week 19 of the 2021-2022 season at Mornington Little Athletics Centre (MLAC).

Dear MLAC Families,

Welcome to our final week of competition for our Summer Little Aths season for this year. Our final event for the season will be held on Saturday 26th March which is the Easter Handicap Races and Championship day where we will present all the Awards and Trophies for each Age Group and participation certificates and medals. If you cannot attend on Sat 26th, can you please let us know in advance since this will help us efficiently manage the Handicap Heats for the day.

State Track & Field Championships

A massive congratulations to all MLAC Athletes who competed at the State Track and Field Championships over the weekend. We had a total of 23 athletes compete who achieved 27 PB's, 8 Club Records and 13 Medals (2 Gold, 2 Silver and 9 Bronze). What an awesome result, well done to everyone that competed over the weekend and we are super proud of each of you.

A big thank you to those that made the weekend possible for our children. Thank you to the parents that completed club duties, without your assistance our children cannot compete. Thanks to those that stepped in cover duties at a moment's notice and to the parents that were attending an out of centre event for the first time, making sure your children were there on time, had the correct uniform on and worked out where there kids needed to be. We would also like to thank Mark Henry, who officiated as High Jump Recorder all weekend.

End of Season Survey

At Mornington Little Athletics Centre, we are always looking for ideas, feedback and suggestions to improve Little Athletics for our kids and families. Your feedback will assist us to improve and deliver a better program in future seasons. We would appreciate if all families could complete the following short End of Season Survey which is anonymous.

MLAC Easter Handicap and Championship Day

The Final event for the Season will be the 'Easter' Handicap and Championship presentations to be held on Saturday 26th March. The Handicap event will be split into Juniors (U6 to U8 age groups) and Seniors (U9 to U16 age groups) with starting point and distances calculated based on times during the year. We will also have some 'treasure hunts' and other fun activities for the day. We will also present MLAC award prizes and trophies for each Age Group as well as participation medals and certificates to all MLAC attendees. Please let us know if you cannot attend this event to assist with coordination and timing of handicap heats.

Parent & Volunteer Duties

Thank you to all the parents who have used our new Duty Booking app on the website. All parents are expected to fulfil their weekly duty allocation. We appreciate all Parents and Volunteer assistance - especially with Set-up and BBQ duties.

Duties for this week are as follows:

  • Track Set Up: from 07:30 - 08:30 OPEN GIRLS & UNDER 11 BOYS

  • BBQ Duties: from 09:00 to 12:00pm UNDER 10 BOYS & UNDER 12 GIRLS

Cross Country Season

Each year, MLAC conduct a Cross Country Season starting end of April until end of August. If you have registered for the Summer Season, your membership also includes the Winter Cross Country season for free. We run every second Saturday in different locations across Mornington Peninsula. Our members can run 1km, 1.5km, 2 or 3km distances. We will provide further details in April before the Cross Country season commences and we would love to see lots of MLAC Little Aths participate during the winter season.

Results HQ

Each week event results are added to the Results HQ website where you can view your child’s results if you are a paid member. For our trial athletes, once you complete the registration process and pay the fees, your child’s results will also be available.

For those who haven't accessed their results before, you will need to do so through the Results HQ platform. To login use your primary email address that you used during registration, will become our username for Results HQ

Please note that results are not always live and it may take a little while for them to be put into the system. There is also a PDF Achievement Book with all of the athletes' season results available to print and download.
