MLAC Season Launch 6th Nov
Welcome Back to Mornington Little Aths
We are all very excited to be returning back to the track after a long lockdown period. We can't wait to see all our members back and welcome to new families to the MLAC Family this Saturday 6th Nov morning. Please arrive by 08:30am so we can ensure all parents can check-in via QR Code. The session is expected to start 09:00am once we have confirmed Age Group managers for each Age group. The MLAC committee has been working hard behind the scenes to plan for an exciting new season and we look forward to seeing our kids get back into action.
Member Registration
Under the new directions from Victorian State Government and LA Vic, all members and trial athletes attending any MLAC events (competition and training) must be registered with LAVIC. Registration options are as follows:
New Members must be registered through the Trial Athlete Program via LA Vic.
Returning Members must be registered through LA Vic Registration Portal
You do not need to pay immediately for Registration. You can defer payment for a maximum of 2 weeks.
As a result of these directions, MLAC will not accept Trial Athletes or returning members who turn up and have not registered via the process above. We strongly encourage all members and new families to complete the Registration process prior to our Season Launch on Sat 6th November 2021.
Season Program & Covid Safe Protocols
The Season program of events is now available on our website. Each week, our athletes will rotate around 4-5 events to ensure groups are physically distanced and group sizes are kept in line with the Covid-safe protocols. Please check our website for our Covid-safe operating protocols. MLAC will have Covid Safe Marshalls who will monitor groups to ensure we maintain a Covid-safe operating environment. Please be respectful, supportive and understanding of the requirements and environment we have to operate under. The safety and well-being of our children will always be our first priority.
Training Update
This season, we are looking forward to introducing weekly training sessions for our Little Aths. Our training sessions will be run by fully qualified coaches each Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 6:00pm. Bookings will be required as we are restricted to maximum group sizes. We will provide further announcements on the program and booking process in the next week as we launch this new program in mid November.
Age Group Managers
We are still seeking several Age Group Managers for various Age Groups for this coming Saturday. Those Age Groups without AGMs will not be able to commence activities until an MLAC committee member has sighted proof of vaccination for the appointed AGM so we are grateful for those parents who have contacted us. If you would like to nominate, please get in contact with us.
Uniforms
This season, we have a brand new MLAC online shop where you can buy your new MLAC uniform. We are holding a Uniform collection evening this Friday evening 5th Nov from 5.00 to 7.00pm so you can avoid the Saturday morning rush. We are also offering a 10% discount voucher to parents/volunteers who donate pre-loved uniform items which will also be offered for sale.
New Families FAQs
We are delighted to welcome our Trial Athletes families to Mornington Little Aths. We have a lot of useful information on our website including a list of FAQs and what to expect on the day. All our parents are encouraged to assist and support our kids as they complete their events. If you have any questions about our Program or Centre, please get in contact with us or any Committee Member (wearing Orange Polo tops) on the track.
Parents & Volunteers Duties
All parents & volunteers who join Mornington Little Athletics are expected to assist with various duties each week. Our club thrives on the participation of our volunteers to make sure our kids get the most out of each week. We have a weekly duty roster which includes parents from each age group to assist our Committee with the following:
