The club had a wonderful day at the State Relay Championships today. Photos have been posted on Facebook, if you have more, please email them to us. We had 37 athletes competing in 17 teams (including 1 athlete in a SMR team), and won 8 medals. An incredible result!
Results as follows:
- Gold to the U15 boys in both the 4x100m and Medley
- Silver to the U10 boys in the 4x200m; to the U9-11 mixed age medley team; and to the U10 girls A team in both the 4x200m and Medley
- Bronze to the U10 boys in the 4x100m; and to the U15 boys in the 4x200m
The U10 girls narrowly missed out on a third medal coming fourth in the 4x100m, and the U9 boys placed fifth in the 4x200m. The U10 girls also boasted our only B team to make it through in the 4x200m race.
Well done to all our athletes and parents. We hope the kids enjoyed themselves because that's what it's all about. Thanks again to Paul Davies (Team Manager), Trevor Quint (Starter), Lucy Duncan (2 days helping in the Merchandise room - well done!) and Mark Henry (Assistant Referee and Chief Track Umpire). Thank you to the parents who completed duties. Thanks to James Barrett for distributing the State tops and for coordinating the training sessions.
See you all at Ballam Park on the 7th of January!!
