Introduction to Coaching Courses

August 20, 2017

We are always requiring coaches at our centre. We prefer our Age Group mangers to have completed the Introduction to Coaching Course that is run by Little Athletics Victoria, but we'd love for more of our parents to have this qualification. The cost is $100 (+ booking fee) which we reimburse you if you are prepared to help the club on Saturdays and on our Tuesday training sessions. The course runs for around 6 hours and is quite fun. Click here for more information and to register.

If you complete this course, please inform Lisa Henry so we can add your name to our skills register.

Practical Starter's Seminars

August 20, 2017

The club would love a few more starter's in our stable for the upcoming season.

LA Vic in conjunction with Athletics Victoria are running Practical Starters Seminars. Click here to see when the courses are being held. We currently only have 2 starters available on Saturdays. We ideally would love to have a few more, so we can have a roster - then it's not the same people doing it every week.

If you choose to complete the course, please let Lisa Henry know so she can add you to our skills register.

Introduction to Officiating Course (ITOC)

August 20, 2017

Each season at Regional and State events, the centre needs to supply Key Officials. These are parents who have completed Officials courses higher than the ITOC. But, the ITOC is a great place to start! If you are prepared to help out in an Officiating capacity, either at centre level or at Regional or State events, click on the image for more information.

If you do complete a course, please let Lisa Henry know so she can add you to the club's skills register.

Junior Development Squad

August 20, 2017

The Junior Development Squad (JDS) gives U12 – U16 athletes an opportunity to gain new skills and improve technical competencies through participation in coaching and training sessions with some of Victoria’s leading coaches. Training with other keen and enthusiastic squad members is both fun and motivational and helps develop new friendships based on an enjoyment of athletics. The emphasis on learning new athletic skills and improving existing ones is in a friendly and supportive environment.

To join JDS, athletes must achieve the qualifying standard in their current age group of the season. Athletes must achieve one standard on two separate occasions or two different standards, once. This ensures that the performances show a consistency and not just a once off.

The JDS information pack contains the calendar, qualifying criteria and standards. By clicking on the poster image to the left you will open the information pack. Once you have read the information pack and checked that you have qualified, you can register.
