State Cross Country Results 2007

Congratulations to everyone who competed at the State Titles at Lardner Park. From all accounts everybody had a really fun day and all athletes performed really well.

Congratulations to the following athletes who finished in both individual and team placing's

U10 Girls 1500m Individual 2nd - Bec Matulis

U10 Girls 1500m Team - 4th (on countback) - Bec Matulis (2nd), Riley Cridland (9th) and Elle McKenzie (34th)

In the teams placing's Mornington and Box Hill were equal on place points, unfortunately the rules state that in the event of a points tie the team with the whose 3rd placed athlete scores the lowest points shall be awarded the higher placing, even though Mornington had an overall combined faster time that Box Hill. It was a fantastic effort by the girls to get up to this place as Elle passed four girls in the last 100m to secure the equal points so well done.

U11 Boys 2000m Individual 3rd - Zachary Rouse

U11 Boys 2000m Team- 1st Zachary Rouse (3rd), Jordan Rouse (4th) and Matthew Thomas (16th)

Congratulations to all other athletes on competing and performing to their best.

From what I have heard the hills training Mike Wheatley has been doing with a lot of the team has paid off with many of our athletes powering up the hills on the course and passing many athletes and also the strong finishing by everybody- Well Done.

A big thank you to Ian Rouse and Lindsey Veale for setting up the tents and ensuring everyone was where they needed to be, Mike Wheatley - Team Manager for sorting out entries, disputes, coaching etc. and to everyone else on cheering and encouraging our kids wherever they came.
